[opensuse] Splash screen

When I log into Suse 10.2 and before KDE is finished loading, I get an 
opensuse splash screen with the "chases it's tail" activity indicator 
instead of the KDE stuff. I have yet to find how to kill the opensuse 
screen. Anyone here have a hint?
