Thank you, Matthias, for your answer. Meanwhile it runs perfect: I just had to set something in the Bios to "8MB for Video". I was then even able to enable 3D and can run google earth on that PC without any problems.
As you are from Suse it might interest you that (except of this BIOS thing) the install (from downloaded CDs) went smothly like a charm: that was really "plug an play"! I received this PC from a company that had W XP on it before. The PC is from 2003 and now unusable for the company because W needs too much resources... it will now be the new PC for my mother and I'm sure all her friends will get jeallous seeing her having such a super modern, fast computer :-) So, once again, I'd like to take the chance and say loud and clear: thanks to all the people at Suse and the Linux community, who make such a fantastic OS!
