Best thing to do is re-format. Before you do though, make sure you write
down everything you have done to this point. After the reformat,
install again, and see if you can get an error. If not, Well, I don't
know what to say.. ;-)

Mike, are you sure that a reformat is in order, or should that just be
rm -f /usr, that should at least produce an error on reboot, maybe
even before then.
