Have you tried to configure card using sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia while it is used in http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA#The_hard_way it maybe necessary to reconfigure /etc/X11/xorg.conf for your card. Last time I looked at the nvidia postinstall script was designed to change the driver name in /etc/X11/xorg.conf from nv to nvidia.
