Basically by trying and testing. I normally use vmware myself, but I have a 
license for it from work. It is a bit pricey

Run "cat /proc/cpuinfo" and read the "flags" line. If you find "vt" in there, 
you can run XP under xen.

But with a centrino, I doubt you will have it
