I looked in setup manual on Acer web site and it seems to be one time password 
setup to keep your conversation private. 

Now when I know a bit more I can rule out many reasons. 

Looking for network problems in Novell bugzilla there is quite a few 
references on problems with Network Manager. Can you try to select classic 
method with ifup during reconfiguration in YaST and see if configuration will 
survive reboot.
