If you are root, the uid will be mantained. If you aren't, then mc will
create the files as belonging to the user running mc.
This appears to be so, but I think that the permissions require
adjusting because not all files are accessible (I didn't pay attention
to which ones they were). I used 'chmod -R u=rwx, g=rwx, o=
</path/directory_name>' to have all directories/files accessible by the
new owner.
