Yeah, that "works" for me too.  I guess I should have been clearer.  I
wanted to access the Korganizer's *functions* from the CLI, e.g., from
the command line add or modify a task or todo item, list a schedule or
an item... from the command line do a search of Korganizer entries.  The
tip I read suggested that these and other Korganizer functions could be
accessed *without* opening the GUI.  Instead of going into the GUI, one
could access functions in/at a console or text window.  No GUI. Just
CLI.  I.e., you could do all the (otherwise GUI stuff) at runlevel 3...
without a graphics interface.
