That isn't the default SUSE package I assume.  Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

So it is not able to use the plugin.

The default for openSUSE is a 32 bit browser in a 64 bit OS.  If your
Java is 64 bit, the browser cannot use it.

There is a i586 version of java with the distro that works.
