thanks for the links. i have read both articles. i am not clear how you
think i should proceed. should i set up as printing via cups or smb?

i read the test_remote_smb file and there is an added line and a letter
missing in line 2 that would bring it in line with what the article says.

i did an edit --help in the terminal for information on editing the file
and i just didn't understand completely what i was reading. should i use
vim -W test_remote_smb to edit the file? then how do i save it?

is there a way to su in konqueror so i can edit the file?

i'm really trying to understand this and get my printers where i can see
them on the network.
