Hi All,

Have just been playing with s2disk/s2ram. For the first time I've been
able to get s2disk working properly on my machine running OpenSus 10.2,
all barring one problem.

I have an adaptec 2940u2w card in the machine (Asus P4B800). The card
drives an LTO1 drive and one SCSI 146GB drive.

At first after resume I was getting kernel panics relating to the
aic7xxx driver. I realised this was due to my tapeware software running
as a daemon (accessing the scsi bus).

I disabled the tape daemon (don't need it anyway) and found on resume
that everything was OK. Until I tried to query lvm.

The 146GB SCSI sits in a volume group (along with 4 other Sata drives).
Any access to that drive causes a kernel panic.

Ok. So I reduce the vg and remove the SCSI drive.

Now everything works perfectly. Through experimentation I have found
that I can unload and reload all SCSI modules at suspend/wake providing
they are not in use at the time. The only problem here is that I
obviously can't reduce out a disk and re-add it the the vg every time I
go into standby so consequently I can't make use of the 146GB drive.

Any help you could offer would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Rick.
