Versions are not identical, but I had no problems to run applications but I
have only openSUSE applications right now.
One of the programs suggests removing the xorg-X11-Mesa-libGL package,
i.e. the /usr/X11R6/lib version, and reinstalling the graphics card
driver. My problem is that in addition there is a /lib/X11R6/lib
subdirectory there is also a /usr/X11R6/lib64 subdirectory which contain
libGL files. Which ones should I remover before reinstalling the
graphic card drivers?
Wild guess is none.
If you install nVidia driver using nvidia-installer downloaded from
ftp://download.nvidia.com like described on
http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA
it should take care of files that conflict with driver.
I know for sure that it does if you use procedure described in "The hard way"
paragraph. I used that recently for 10.3 alpha test.
What is missing in mentioned paragraph is that you have to install kernel
sources, check for kernel sources updates with YOU (YaST Online Update), and
than run installer script.
When installer wants to download kernel <something> from nvidia web site
decline it and it will use your sources in /usr/src/linux.
