I was reading, but it seems that the bug was closed by Novell :( from public view. I speak about: [Bug 259718] Sub-pixel antialising does not work when set from KDE Control Center. You know it's pretty difficult to read closed information.

I think 3D games (and their fonts) and nVidia had SuperSampling AntiAliasing prior to Microsoft's ClearType.
