Just tell them that, unlike Windows, Linux comes with a complete manual for all of it's commands (well, most of them). The fact that most recent Windows users or other uninitiated won't be able to decipher the cryptic meanings without a book (manual) is beside the point. Personally, I prefer a gui to cli since I am basically lazy and would rather point-n-click than lean over and open a terminal window and type, then wonder what I forgot to enter when it doesn't work right.
