No offense intended, but why don't you toss it in the trash and buy a new power amp... one of the nice bricks with those power mosfets that put out gobs of power and are damn near bullet proof. They are relatively cheap, too. Certainly on par with trying to go through all the time, effort and expense of resurrecting that door stop.
