Hi,

I'm looking into a Thinkpad T60p. It has a ATI Mobility FireGL
V5250 graphics gard. AFAIU, that card is supported by a proprietary
driver. I remember to have heard bad things about that driver, much
more so than about the proprietary Nvidia driver.

One thing to note is that I've never been able to run the Live eval
DVD on my laptop that has Mobility FireGL V5000 (or 5100, not 100%
sure). I just tried to load the new 10.2 and then install the drivers
with YaST in the text mode, but even that didn't work as on the live
DVD you can not install stuff like that. But Knoppix has always been
working on that laptop, so it's more a SUSE problem. If you do the
real install, you might get it to work with the drivers. I do not know
how the install goes though if the graphical YaST doesn't work...
