Yes, that's what it does here on my XP partition too.

Yes. That's ok, too. In my Openoffice.org on XP it does'nt either since 
MathType is not installed here. And I would not expect it to open on my Linux 
system, too. I am only interested why the formula doesn't display the 
brackets and other types like the multicplication dot.
