Hi I have a dual boot DELL Inspiron 5150 Laptop , running openSUSE 10.2 and Windows XP professional. When booting up into Windows everyworks as normal, but I have found that under OpenSUSE after a while the computer hangs and automatically restarts reporting the message that there was a problem with the temperature and the fan.
I have noticed that in the boot messages there are a couple of FATAL errors with relation to not being able to find a fan device as well as acpi. I had originally thought that it might be the fan at fault , but then if that were the case I would have expected to see the same problem under Windows. For comparison, the same distribution of OpenSUSE works fine installed on a server class machine, without any overheating problems. If anyone has experienced something like this before, and can propose a solution I would be grateful, Thanks in advance Mark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
