It doesn't matter. It will get a filesystem image, in whichever filesystem 
format it has, and as it came from a CDrom, it can be burned back on 
another using k3b or anything. K3b will only warn that it is not an iso 
image, but it will burn it correctly.

I know because I burn DVDs in XFS format.
