Microsoft used to charge vendors for a full windows install even if they
didn't install windows. Plus vendors are now making more money off all the
third party nag ware they install then they do off the computers.

What size HD do you get for 100 Euros? The box I've got would be reusing
memory that doesn't fit most new motherboards. By next year it'll be two
times out of date. But I can stuff all the old now too small HD drives into
the case. Or I can pop in a new larger one. Basically all the bits are
reused.
