Hi guys,
I'm testing a new Asus P5GZ-MZ motherboard with an on board "Asustek
Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit " ethernet interface. This LAN connection will
not work. OSL 10.2 does "see" it and there are no obvious errors with
it. I assumed that I needed a driver. Just for kicks I checked the Asus
factory drives CD for WIndows and low and behold there is a drivers
folder for Linux....for both the LAN and Audio.

I opened up the LAN folder to see what was there and there are two
choices, one is "linux6.16" and the other folder is "v8_36"

The contents of the "linux6.16" is:
"yukonx.htm" and the other is "yukon_xsolx86v6.16.tar.Z"

The contents of the "V8_36" is:
    "install-8_36.tar.bz2" and "README.txt" and "SK98lin.txt"

First of all I how now idea which one I should use...if any of them.

The install instruction simple don't work for the first folders tar
file. It mentions to use the "uncompress" command for the
"yukon_xsolx86v6.16.tar.Z" file...but this command doesn't seem to exist.

The other file "install-8_36.tar.bz2" will decompress using the standard
commands...but when I go to installed it I'm givin a choice of making a
patch for the kernal or doing an installation. Either way the
installation instructions can't be made for the Suse distro...because
nothing works.

Any Ideas about this. Usually when the network card shows up in the
Network Card applet in Yast the card works....not this time.

Thanks
Chris
