On another subject, I used to have that happen a lot with my wired network card. Bugs the hell out of me. But with my GW-122 dongle, I just make sure ndiswrapper is loaded at boot, and everything works like a charm. The only problem I have is that KNetworkManager by default tries to start the ethernet card first.
