I have similar problems on a different system (MSI). I had intended to use it as a MythTV box, but the fans would never get quite enough for that, and I reloaded windows on the box. Windows quiets the fans immediately after boot, and from then on they run based on demand (cpu heat) rather than full speed all the time.
