You can. You will have to add additional repositories. I found it on
the "guru" repository - version 1.4.5 is there.

I use SMART as a tool (similar to apt-get, if that still exists) but
you can pick and choose what tool you want. This page is an excellent
intro to these tools and the sites you need:

YaST is that and more. It is probabaly one of the stronger points of
SUSE.
