|Subject: [opensuse] Problem install 10.2 64 bit, blank screen.

|Hi All,
|
|I got a probelm during installation opensuse 10.2 64 bit in
|AMD Athlon 64. After I choose installation in grub, it just
|blank screen, the keyboard not responding.
|MB: M2NPV-MX, VGA on-board, HD SATA, Memory 2GB.
|Is it hardware problem ?
|
This is probably a sata controller problem. I believe the
initial bootup image does not have sata-support, or your mb-manufacturer
have put sata and ide into the same chip, which then the kernel
thinks is a ide.

I had the same thing when I installed 10.2 on an ASUS P5B,
I solved it by installing the net-install image and then install
from the net-repository.

After installation is complete the satadrive works fine.
