Wade,
   Believe it or not, I simply could not get 10.2 to install on this
laptop...  This laptop me thinks may just be against me.
Probably because it originally came with XP.  heh.  :-)

I have not dug deeper into it, but I have been using the 10.2 DVD image and
on this laptop I get errors that package files are invalid.
Tried a different DVD drive via USB on the laptop... same thing...  And I
have used that DVD successfully on other machines.
Go figure...

Either way... I tried your suggestion and unfortunately I still get the
same nothingness.
