OK, so now that I have been thoroughly chastised for violating Proper Procedures on this list AND given a tutorial on list threading, how about someone stepping up to the plate and trying to address the original problem, which is how to undo a Smart upgrade to open GL? At least, that is what I think may be the problem, as after the upgrade any openGL apps crash KDE and take me back to the login window.
