I have hp compaq dc7700 with intel q965 chip -> integrated video, plus a
DVI ADD2 pcix card.

The trouble is that ctrl-Fn switches don't work. The first switch to one
of the consoles works, but attempting to switch back to ctrl-f7 leads to
a "flashing blue" screen. After that, only a reboot can do any help.

Here are some command outputs that could describe the case:

# uname -a

According to sax2, I am in vesa framebuffer mode.
glxgears works, giving the numbers as listed above, but with some
hickups in the animation window... The gears are slow and not moving
smoothly at all.

I tried many things that I found by googleing, eg removing DVI ADD2 from
the box, or going init 3 and calling "sax2 -c 0 -m 0=i810" etc etc...
Nothing helped.

Please, is there anybody on this list who can give me a suggestion what
to try next?

TIA & best regards
