How exactly are you trying to access the share? Are you using a NETBIOS name or IP address? If you are using a NETBIOS name, try using the IP address, like so: smb://192.168.1.100/c$ and see if that works. You are using the 3.5.5 packages, and I have moved to the 3.5.7 packages, so if there was a bug on your end I may not be seeing it anyways.
