For what it's worth, gmail is, well ... , different. I'm on a couple of
other mailing lists where lots of users are on gmail because of the way
it stores their mail and handles threads. But a common complaint is
that gmail seems to eat messages from them. That is, they post to the
list, and everyone else can see what they posted, but the only way they
see their own message again is if someone else replies and quotes it.
I tried it, didn't like it, and prefer to use my ISP account and
Thunderbird. It's reassuring to see what I've posted to the lists, at
the same time everyone else does.
Maybe something like that is going on here?
Yep, now that you mention it, I don't get my own mail either. But the
HUGE advantage of GMail is when you move ISPs, and don't have to stuff
around changing email addresses, which I have been doing in the last
few days.... :-(
