What about in YaST, Hardware, Sound settings? Does playing the Volume, Test option give decent sound or is that as bad as anything else? Are these the same speakers, speaker wires and general physical placement for the last 3 or 9 years? Are they externally powered and is that a relatively clean or noise free circuit? Or are the speaker wires wrapped around your wireless antennas or microwave oven?
