Hi everyone I've an old logitech quickcam express which works fine with: motv -nodga
I can record the video stream as an avi. The viewer opens in mplayer and vlc and I can see the output clearly onscreen but i can't record it. The recording is garbled no matter which encapulation I try. camstream just gives me a blank screen whatever. I'm using nvidia 6100 with no dga support which is why motv works I think as it doesn't work without the -nodga switch. mencoder tv:// -tv driver=v4l:width=352:height=288:device=/dev/video0 -nosound -ovc lavc -o steve.avi gives me this error: ioctl mcapture failed: Invalid argument I've tried other formats of height and width with the same effect and of course hours of goodling for the ioctl error without success. Could anyone help me with recording a stream from the webcam in anything other than motv?
