You need to experiment with kmix or alsamixergui and, one at a time, turn 
on/off, slide the sliders up/down, full and partial volume, etc  _all_  
options. More than likely you'll find one that needs to be off/on or that 
shouldn't be over 50% volume, etc.

There isn't any one name for most of these options because IINM each 
manufacturer can give them whatever label they want. For anyone to tell you 
to set the "Lateral Async Volume" to 50% won't make any sense because yours 
may be labelled "Internal Volume" :).
