Early on in the installation a prompt asks if you would like to have the repositories added. I think it may be a big mistake to say yes as this easily increases the time for an install to 4-6 times. I have also seen hangs and multiple times when it goes out to collect information over the net which becomes very painful.
Also, as a result, i think, of making this choice the prompts telling me what is happening during install become nonsense. That is, when the prompt says things like: -> Configure Display Manager or later -> Users, instead I wait for an hour while the its downloading information from a repository. I see this happening over and over again during a single installation. Probably 6-8 times it's collection what appears to be the same information.
