Thanx all who responded so far.

I have come to the conclusion, based on all the comments you all gave,
that the Inspiron 1720 Gold (N0817206B) will be a good system.

I still have doubts about the "Intel Next-gen Wireless-n 802.11a/b/g/n
Mini Card" in this system. Anyone got one working with OpenSUSE 10.2?

Here is the Config:

Components

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 Processor (1,8 GHz, 800 MHz, 2 MB L2-Cache)

Original Windows Vista™ Home Premium (32 Bit) (will be OpenSuse 10.2
x86_64)
17,0" UltraSharp™ Widescreen WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Display with TrueLife™

2048 MB 667 MHz Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2 x 1024]

Two SATA-HD (5.400 RPM.) with 240 GB (2 x 120 GB)

nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256 MB dedicated DDR2-Graphic-memory

Internal 8x DVD+/-RWwith Software

Lithium-Ion-Cells with 9 cells at 85 Watt-hour

Accessories
Intel® Wireless-N-Mini-card new Generation - Europa Does it work with
OpenSUSE 10.2?

Microsoft® Works 8.5 (ha-ha, OOo 2.2)
Services und Software 3 Year Hardware-Support

Type: 1720 Gold N0817206B Inspiron

It costs about 1700 Euro in Germany when ordered online.
I always get a telephonic quote, which is mostly a little cheaper.

:-)
