As you can see, from the old message above, back in July there was this
problem of updating a kernel and instead of installing the new one, it
replaced it.(lock & multiversion flags were set) Rajko pointed out that it
was not a problem with Smart or Yast and was a bug. Marcus even commented on
the bug.

Rajko also explained the workaround as per above but I could not find the
installation script so I just shrugged my shoulders and thought I would wait
for the next upgrade to the kernel. After all, it was done. The new kernel
replaced the old one. No going back.

Welllll... I guess it's not fixed. Same thing happened again tonight when I
upgraded to 49.1. I really don't like that. Over the years I have always had
the old and new kernels side by side in case something was wrong with the new
kernel. Thankfully 49.1 was OK and my machine booted to the new kernel. I
guess I am old-fashioned with a back-up to whatever I do. Hopefully in the
future I don't have to go on-line and get a kernel and install it with RPM
like I used to have to do.

Has to be a lot of people on this list that have a problem with these kinds of
things. Go vote for that bug !!!

Bob S.

BTW kernel-source and doc are not upgraded also.
