[opensuse] Gtk confused

I am a little confused. I am trying to compile gtkpod-0.99.10 on SLEd
SP1. I get this error;
configure: error: *** No package 'gtk+-2.0' found
I check yast for gtk and find gtk-sharp2 installed and at version 2.8.
Is this not gtk+? I also see gtk-sharp2-complete which is not installed?
