Strange, if the make does not show errors it should work, the tests bofor
install are quite extensive. Did the admin force the install? I am running
sa 3.2.3 from a CPAN install on Suse 10.0 here.
Perhaps some dependencies were not installed/updated to the neccessary
version?

Red hering, it shouldn't be neccessary for amavisd-new.
