Hi,

I use SuSE 10.2 under VMWare Fusion on the Mac. I would like to use the
remote control.

Linux recognizes the IR:

sb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 1-1: new device found, idVendor=05ac, idProduct=8242
usb 1-1: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-1: Product: IR Receiver
usb 1-1: Manufacturer: Apple Computer, Inc.
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 1-2: new device found, idVendor=0e0f, idProduct=0002
usb 1-2: new device strings: Mfr=0, Product=1, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-2: Product: VMware Virtual USB Hub
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
hub 1-2:1.0: USB hub found
hub 1-2:1.0: 7 ports detected
usbcore: registered new driver hiddev
input: Apple Computer, Inc. IR Receiver as /class/input/input3
input: USB HID v1.11 Device [Apple Computer, Inc. IR Receiver] on
usb-0000:00:07

                         .2-1
usbcore: registered new driver usbhid
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver

I also started rclircd with the configuration for A1156, but I do not
get any signals. irw does not say anything.

My suspision is that Linux recognizese the USB device, but does not know
that it is a IR device. Is there a way to test, wether signals come over
USB? Is there something I could do about the LIRC setup?

Thanks and greetings

        Stefan

cat /proc/bus/input/devices

N: Name="Apple Computer, Inc. IR Receiver"
P: Phys=usb-0000:00:07.2-1/input0
S: Sysfs=/class/input/input3
H: Handlers=event3
B: EV=1
