You can also use the KDE kwalletmanager to store passwords, account details 
manually in an encrypted file.  If you open the main window, you see the 
standard KDE wallet used by applications like konqueror, kmail and kopete.  
You can add a new, separate wallet with an independent password for your own 
stuff with its own folder hierarchy, containing passwords, key/value maps and 
other data types, or you can add your stuff to the KDE wallet without 
interfering with the data stored by the applications.  

The nice thing about the wallet is that it has search as you type so you can 
just type eg "bank" and drill straight down to the banking entries...
