You need to add your user to "vboxgroup" group (and restart) or run as
root. It works.

BTW: I wrote a whole guide about VirtualBox for openSUSE. Just install
"lessons4lizards" doc package, and access it via "Start->Help".

I hope you installed virtualbox kernel driver rpm.
