It wasn't removed: rather it was never there. Yast always replaces the
kernel and every other package it installs.
Anyhow, if anyone has a copy of that rpm, I would dearly love it if you
could somehow get it to me. I have checked all the places that usually
have copies but they have mysteriously disappeared. :(
Does the one on the DVD work?
You should report on bugzilla your problem with the new kernel that the
old hasn't, anyhow, so that the new one can be patched.
