For those who've implemented an encrypted partition on a formerly unencrypted partition, have you noticed an increase in the size of the data. (Since one stage of modern encryption involves data compression, I would think the aggregate data encrypted would actually be smaller than the same unencrypted. But I have no empirical basis.)
Secondly, does the processor take a hit doing the encryption? If so, how big is it? Finally, while on the topic... if there are kernel modules for encryption, these would seem to be prime candidates for compiling into the kernel. Which modules are these?
