What lockups are you getting? If they are caused by "Compiz" I would recommend 
installing KDE 3.5.8 from the Build Service which eliminates some of the 
issues I had when running KDE with Compiz. 

On another note, can one of the KDE Designers unveil if 11.0 will be KDE by 
default (as 10.3 was), and will the next version of SLED be KDE instead of 
Gnome by default?
