I had the same problem. After an automatic update of jdk (from 1.6.0_02
to 1.6.0_03), I could not find any java or javac again.

As root, I'm trying to start the command

# update-alternatives --config --java

but my system answered "No alternative for --javac" even if rpm and yast say
the jdk is installed (all package with name starting java-1_6_0_sun* are
installed

Don't understand what happen ;)
