Henry,

        That's the rub. Even with compiz running I can NOT select compiz in the
session manager because it is NOT present. All that is present is a
greyed out kwin and no option and no ability to change it to anything else.

        There is no way you are in Center. I didn't think Linda K. allowed
counter-cultures such as Linux to exist in either Shelby or Panola
county. Glad to know I'm not the only one behind the pine curtain
fighting the good fight.

        I'll try the startup script, but something is screwed if I can't even
select compiz in session manager.
