An alternative to changing the resolution would be: Yast2 -> Hardware -> Graphics Card and Monitor (a) Monitor: "Your monitor vendor" click Change -> play with the settings under the "Monitor Vendor and Name Selection" tab and/or the "Display Size" tab OR (b) Under "Properties" -> "Resolution" -> select a different resolution Out of curiosity, what kind of graphics card do you have?
