It would be very usefull to know what model is your USB.

it is probably Prism54. 

It should work with ndiswrapper and windows driver. 

In case it doesn't guys here would probably need output of console commands: 
  lsusb 
part that shows that device is present. Also 
  tail -f /var/log/messages
before connecting wireless dongle, can show how kernel handles device.
