To implement that the easiest is to go to 
YaST2 / System / "/etc/sysconfig Editor"
and edit these two items:
-  System / Cron / MAX_DAYS_IN_TMP: 7
-  System / Cron / CLEAR_TMP_DIRS_AT_BOOTUP: yes

I've had this problem in the past, but it was with temporary PDFs (from 
Firefox?) accumulating.
