ACPI. We have had to disable this in the BIOS and kernel in a recent batch of SuperMicro servers. The previous servers (same model/product number) had a different BIOS, and no need for this change. I have been following www.linuxfirmware.org to see how I might use their stuff to detect a potentially 'bad' BIOS.
